So just how do you make a bath bomb? Very carefully, says Marsha Coppola, owner of Da Bomb Bath Co. and NeVaeh Kids Spa in Thorold, Ontario, Canada.

So just how do you make a bath bomb? Very carefully, says Marsha Coppola, owner of Da Bomb Bath Co. and NeVaeh Kids Spa in Thorold, Ontario, Canada. Her foray into the bath bomb business was motivated by fun and curiosity. “Our kids’ spa was ordering items from a supplier but the cost to ship to Canada with duty and taxes became too much. With the aid of Youtube I started looking to see if we could make our own bath bombs to add to our manicures and pedicures,” she says. “The cupcake bath bombs were created because we wanted to promote our spa in schools. We offered this amazing creepy-crawler mini cupcake bath bomb for parents to bring to class as a gift for classmates.”

Making bath bombs is fun and easy — given the right conditions. “If there is moisture in the air, they don’t work. If it is too humid, they don’t work. It is a learning curve,” she says. “We recommend using fresh, natural ingredients — they seem to work better. By combining the right mixture of baking soda, citric acid, and nourishing oils you can create this little piece of heaven.

“If a business would like us the create a unique bath bomb for them we would love to hear from them,” says Coppola. Go to www.dabombbathco.com or www.facebook.com/nevaehkidsspa.
