It was a local craft class called “Friendly Plastic” that Terrie Henderson attended with her daughter that inspired her to take her nail art one step further.

Henderson, who works as a nail technician at Dee’s Wavelength in Portland, Ore., learned in the class how to melt plastic to make jewelry from pins to pendants to earrings. Henderson began playing around with nail art on tips and setting the tips into the plastic, sometimes adding gems.
