“I think the trend is a lot of fun! I loved how one designer was pairing bright colors like magenta and teal with prints like animal and floral. With nails I always enjoy venturing outside the norm so it was nice to see this happening with fashion, mixing what someone would think to be opposing patterns.”

With fall runway season already in full swing, the trendspotting has begun. So often what we see worn down a runway can easily be translated into nail art. Animal print is common throughout the fall season and 2013 is no exception. In addition to classic leopard and cheetah there was an onslaught of ocelot at New York Fashion Week. Designers such as Tracy Reese and Hervé Léger all went wild over this medium-sized wild  cat. This print is made up of jaguar-like spots that may link to form striped patterns. Traditionally the spots and stripes are black against yellow-orange fur, but the nail art featured here proves that the possibilities for re-imagining this trend are truly endless.
