The bottled, decorative “effects” come in seven varieties of glitters, pigments, foils, and powders for a combined 70‐shade, multi‐range of sparkle and shimmer shades that instantly change the look of base-colored, manicured nails.

The new line is the brainchild of Charnin, who was operating Nail Wig Toppings Bar in Newburgh, NY, when the pandemic hit and the posh nail bar closed. The business had offered clients the opportunity to create their own “effects” at a self‐serve nail bar. They could mix and match colors, textures, and styles for one‐of‐a‐kind nail looks. Charnin created the line to broaden the reach to anyone looking for a unique nail experience.

"Isolation and stillness due to the pandemic allowed me to creatively focus on transitioning the concept for Nail Wig Toppings Bar into a product line,” Charnin recalls. “With at‐home nail products on the rise, I felt a need to bridge the gap between nail salons and over-the-counter nail color.”

The seven Nail Wig Stroke Effects choices are:

• Halo Effects: saturated, fine-particle and larger-particle holographic glitters that give a mesmerizing effect

• Foil Effects: foil paper that presses to perfection and creates dimension

• Glo Effects: neon, black-light-activated properties to illuminate and glow

• Chrome Effects: micro‐fine metallic pigments that creates a mirrored finish

• Glitter Effects: multi‐sized glitter to add a sparkling texture

• Chunky Effects: large-sized glitters that add a multi‐dimensional look

• Marble Effects: alcohol-based pigment that creates a marble effect

Appropriate for application on natural nails or extensions, each Effect is applied following a base coat of gel or traditional polish, transforming the nail into an accelerated look. Once gel/polish is applied, the selected effect is sprinkled, tapped, or smoothed onto the nail bed and cured with a lacquer top coat or gel and UV/LED lamp.
