OPI’s NEW Chrome Effects and Infinite Shine Glaze Toppers
After seasons of barely-there manicures and minimalist nail looks, chrome is officially back in the spotlight.
Swirls of pink, violet, and blue are revealed under a layer of black velvet.

Nails by Risé Carter, national director of sales and education for NSI.
Design by Erin Dixon, Newport News, Virg.

Step 1: Start with a large bead of NSI's Fuchsia Pink Powder and place in zone three near the cuticle. Press from side to side for even coverage. Pull and thin the bead into zone 2 until appearance is grainy and translucent.

Step 2: Repeat the process in zone 2 with Glistening Violet Powder pulling the bead into zone 1. Without wiping your brush, use the flags of the brush and gently bounce it where the two colors meet, blending the two colors. You may need to add a small amount of liquid to the brush.

Step 3: Place a large bead of Glistening Cobalt Powder in zone 1 pressing from side to side. Again, use the flags of the brush to blend the two colors and allow the acrylic to dry.

Step 4: You will need 3 large beads of Basic Black Powder for a larger nail. Work quickly. Place a large bead of Basic Black Powder in zone 3 near the cuticle. Press form side to side. Quickly place the second bead and press from side to side. Quickly place the third bead in zone 1 and press from side to side. Be sure that entire nail is sufficiently and evenly coated in Basic Black Powder. Before the product sets, use a wood stick filed to a point, or an open paper clip, to make swirl marks through the Basic Black Powder to expose the colors underneath. Allow to dry.

Step 5: Place a large bead of Attraction Totally Clear Powder in zone 1 and press from side to side. Press firmly to fill the swirls with product. Continue in zones 2 and 3 coating the entire nail. Allow to dry. File and shape the nail. Be careful not to apply too much pressure while filing or use an overly rough file. You don’t want to file completely through the clear acrylic that overlays the entire design. You may end up filing off some of your design. Coat with Glaze ‘n Go and cure for 90 seconds in a 9 watt UV Lamp.
