OPI’s NEW Chrome Effects and Infinite Shine Glaze Toppers
After seasons of barely-there manicures and minimalist nail looks, chrome is officially back in the spotlight.
CND provided a variety of over-the-top nail art to go with Libertine's English garden and Victorian print-inspired collection.

CND
Johnson Hartig’s incredible passion for art, fashion, history, design, travel, and culture are all brought together to form one of Hartig’s most distinct, avant-garde collections yet. Prominent looks take inspiration from Staffordshire porcelain patterns — inspired by a collaboration with Schumacher — English gardens, and his unmistakable love for mixed Victorian prints blended with a modern high contrast aesthetic. Libertine SS2020 celebrates Hartig’s signature irreverence and keen eye for overlapping patterns, bringing his artistic vision to life like no season before.
Working closely with Hartig, CND lead artist Heather Reynosa and the CND Design Lab team created the nails to be an extension of the looks themselves, with patterns going hand in hand with each model’s ensemble. When a look encompassed textures of silk, linen, plastic, and origami, the nail did as well, creating a symbiotic relationship between the clothes and the nail. CND Design Lab artists used CND SHELLAC and various materials to create an array of shapes, lengths, and dimensions to bring each pattern to life, including shreds of deconstructed linen ribbon cascading from the nail, strips of pastel SHELLAC folded into intricate origami bouquets, and finger gloves.
“Working with Johnson and the team at Libertine is something we look forward to every season,” says CND co-founder and style director Jan Arnold. “Johnson inspired us with energetic and fun patterns that mirrored the color palette of our upcoming Spring and Summer CND collections, making this partnership seem even more meant to be. We are so thrilled to be a part of the Libertine magic and congratulations to Johnson for another breathtaking collection!”

Standout Nail: Origami Garden by CND Design Lab Artist Valerie Ducharme
Taking a total of 20 hours per set, Ducharme curated a mix of CND Brisa Gel and Xpress5Top Coat to create an “origami paper” with a shiny finish. To create each flower in the origami bouquets you see on the nail, Durcharme cut and rolled the “paper” into different strips of varying lengths and widths and meticulously rolled each one, securing them at the end with glue to seal their shape. She then hand-painted each origami flower with a shade from the CND Spring and Summer collections and other CND shades, before adhering them on a nail tip painted with CND classic favorite, Black Pool.
CND Colors Used: Kiss from a Rose, Carnation Bliss, Down by the Bae, and Hot or Knot from the upcoming Spring & Summer 2020 collections; Be Demure, Cream Pu, Cityscape, Jellied, and Black Pool
