Morticia Addams, Anjelica Huston’s character in the movie The Addams Family, sports the dagger-length, blood-red fingernails characteristic of the femme fatale. To obtain the length suited to the character, makeup designer Fern Buchner used press-on nails coated with a deep shade of crimson. Even Morticia’s daughter Wednesday, portrayed by Christina Ricci, sported tiny red fingernails.
