My meeting with John Pohlen, owner/CEO of Salon Equipment International, went really well last week. I visited him in his showroom, where we sat down for a little over an hour to figure out exactly what furniture Rob|b will be using. We went over every little thing that's laid out in our floor plan - from the big pieces like the multi-use tables that'll be in the private rooms (for massages, waxing, and facials) to the individual towel warmers that each manicure station will have.

John also knows someone who will be building my custom-designed furniture pieces for me. The furniture maker needs about 8 to 10 weeks of lead time, but I'm hoping to give him about 12 weeks for my items.

Since I picked a lot of furniture from catalogs, I'm hoping to see the pieces in person at the ISSE (International Salon & Spa Expo) in Long Beach February 3-5. I figure since I'm a salon owner I definitely need to go to as many tradeshows as I can.
