Tippi Hedren Honored by Vietnamese-American Association
Former actress and model Tippi Hedren, best known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, and credited with helping the Vietnamese community first get started in the nail industry back in the ’70s, will be honored by the Vietnamese-American association, Boat People SOS, for their 30-year anniversary gala in Washington, D.C. In a video feature by the ShermanOaks Patch, Hedren is interviewed on how she helped educate the first Vietnamese refugees that fled the war on boats, on how to perform manicures and provide income for themselves in America. A Reality Star to Call Our Own
After years of reality shows focused on hair salons and hairstylists (Blow Out, Shear Genius, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Jerseylicious) the nail industry is finally getting our own reality show. Billed as a reality docu-soap series, TV Guide Network’s Nail Files follows the life of salon owner Katie Cazorla as she juggles her expanding business and her personal life.
On My Mind: Lights, Camera, Nails!
We’re all pretty excited about Katie Cazorla’s new nail salon-focused reality show that’s premiering later this month (all the details are in our cover story here). After years of reality shows on everything from hoarders to bridezillas, it’s validating to finally have a reality show all of our own.
