I am so excited to say that my nail tech school tuition will be paid in full! Last week, the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation announced the CND|BCL|Tippi Hedren Nail Technology Scholarship recipients, and I was completely surprised and honored to have been chosen as one of the 10 winners.

Ten aspiring beauty industry professionals will receive financial awards up to $5,000 to cover tuition for nail tech programs.
The second week of school got off to a rough start. I spent most of my week finalizing my submission video for the Beauty Changes Lives /CND /Tippi Hedren Nail Technology Scholarship. The scholarship is for nail tech students, giving them the opportunity to win the full cost of their nail technology tuition to an accredited school.

On Monday, September 25, 2013, Actress Tippi Hedren was honored with the Legacy of Style Award at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Beauty Changes Lives Legacy of Style Award is presented to industry leaders, whose vision and commitment elevate the beauty and wellness industry.

At an invite-only party during Cosmoprof North America, Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) and CND announced the new BCL CND Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship Fund. Founded to support professional nail education, the Scholarship Fund honors actress Hedren's role in helping shape the nail industry by being at the forefront of the Vietnamese nail salon movement. Former actress and model Tippi Hedren, best known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, and credited with helping the Vietnamese community first get started in the nail industry back in the ’70s, will be honored by the Vietnamese-American association, Boat People SOS, for their 30-year anniversary gala in Washington, D.C. In a video feature by the ShermanOaks Patch, Hedren is interviewed on how she helped educate the first Vietnamese refugees that fled the war on boats, on how to perform manicures and provide income for themselves in America. Hedren was a resident of Sherman Oaks, Calif., in 1975, and sponsored 20 Vietnamese refugees to go through nail school.
