Mimi D - Lineage

The gray resembles cruel situations we experience as lows, the light colors represent the opportunity to learn and grow as one and the yellow reflects highs signifying our ability to rise each day even when we’re not appreciated.

If last year taught us anything, it’s that the beauty industry needs to step up representation and inclusivity. June of 2020 shed light on racial injustices, leading brands to look inward and make pledges to improve. For ManiMe, that meant starting with examining the diversity of their designer partnerships and committing to doing better.

Since then, ManiMe has increased their Black partners by 25% and partners of color by 30%. To celebrate Black History Month, they are working with four talented Black nail artists - Canishea J. Sams, Lux K, Mimi D and Spifster Sutton - to launch eight new designs, each with a portion of revenue being donated to an organization of the artists’ choosing that support folks impacted by systemic racism, poverty, oppression and more.
