Premise Martin, creator and CEO of Pedilicious Footwear, enjoyed an exciting honor last month: She got the opportunity to ring the Nasdaq bell in New York City. She was one of a group of women selected by a group she's a member of, the Nashville Association for Female Executives (NAFE). “For women’s History Month, they gathered a group of women they thought were very influential and inspirational to come ring the bell with them at Nasdaq,” Martin explains. One of NAFE’s vice presidents met Martin and was impressed by how she launched her product at a Macy’s in Atlanta on Super Bowl Sunday.

“It was crazy! It was so exciting,” Martin says of the experience. “You get the star treatment. It’s at 43rd and 7th Ave in the heart of Times Square.” Martin enjoyed networking in the green room with other attendees including women from Working Mother Magazine and other organizations, and the first female football coach for the Jets. Once inside, the women were instructed on what to do and allowed to take a picture. “You have to clap and scream for two minutes straight,” says Martin. “It was amazing, very high-energy, and everyone seemed to get along well. We were very proud of each other.”
