With all the hubbub about foot bath sanitation and the possibility of disease transmission in the salon, your pedicure clients may prefer to be led to an empty basin rather than to a sudsy tub, no matter how enticing the presentation.

“To guarantee a return client, present clients with a sanitized and empty pedicure throne or basin, along with a laminated menu of pedicure services and add-ons to review,” advises Bonnie Canavino, a spa consultant and creator of the Spa Specifics product line.

“Clients may not tell you, but they can find it worrisome to walk in and find the pedicure bowl is already filled, making it impossible to see how clean the bowl is.” While you draw fresh water, you can discuss pedicure service options with the client to make sure she gets exactly what she wants.
