Flattering Colors
Fair skin tones look great with bright pinks and corals, like Essie’s Mod Squad and Sally Hansen’s Shell We Dance. Medium skin tones are beautiful with jewel-toned polishes like OPI’s Just a Little Rosti at This. Darker skin tones look lovely with orange and blue polishes, like Essie’s Vermillionaire and OPI’s Ogre-the-Top Blue. Lastly, reds are great on all skin tones but royal purple is becoming a new universally-flattering shade.
Smart Tools
Some great tools to keep on hand are nonacetone polish remover, fine-grit emery boards, cuticle-oil pens, foot files like Sally Hansen’s Sole Control 2-Step Foot File, heavy creams like Barielle’s Heel and Callus Treatment cream, ridge-filling base coat like Essie’s Ridge Filling Base Coat and a quick-dry top coat like Seche Vite’s.
Luxurious Touches
To made at-home pedicures feel more luxurious, try adding Epsom salts or essential oils to your footbath, use a sugar-based scrub for exfoliation, apply a hydrating foot mask like OPI Pedicure Mask, and try applying a paraffin wax treatment.
