Nail tech Maisie Dunbar of Maisie Dunbar Spa Lounge (www.maisiedunbarspalounge.com) in Silver Spring, Md., has received the distinguished 2014 Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award for the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Top 100 MBE ceremony, which took place in October, was designed to acknowledge and pay tribute to outstanding women and minority business owners. “It was such an honor to be the only beauty-related business in a group of some amazing businesses,” says Dunbar. “As a beauty professional, I felt very proud of not only my accomplishment, but as a single mom who did not take no for an answer and made it against all odds. I love the beauty industry!”
