The agenda for nails is a spectrum of reds--and a few blues--on the cooler side. The darker red is Jason Wu for Lancome Vernis in Love in Fuchsia Veneer and the brighter red is Essie nail polish in Russian Roulette. The blue is Milani Nail Lacquer in Tattle Teal.
Plus, we can expect everyone to be talking about Christian Louboutian's new polish collection - if just for the outrageous bottles. "The bottle is not practical. But just as a high heel slows your walk, this long cap obliges you to take some time to paint your nails," Louboutian says. Clockwise the colors are: Lady Page, Miss Loubi, Batignolles, Lova, Bengali, Mula Lisa, and Zermadame.
Finally, Sally Hansen's two-step Miracle Gel nail polish is the gel du jour. It doesn't need to be cured under a special light, it has a supershiny finish, lasts up to two weeks, and comes off with regular polish remover! What a win. Allure's tester tried out the polish for herself saying after nine days, the polish was only worn away a bit at the edges. Tried and tested! The color is Red Eye.
The anniversary campaign includes a proposed French Manicure Day and submission of the original French Manicure Kit for consideration by the Smithsonian's Personal Care and Cosmetics Collection.
