Gold and silver glitter polishes are all the range this winter, reports Self magazine's December 2012 issue.

For glitter, however, nail shape matters. File each nail into a squarish oval. Lastly, if shiny gold feels a little too "night out," use a buffer to gently dull the finish.

Recommend SpaRitual's Alchemy, OPI's The Man With the Golden Gun, or Deborah Lippmann's Cleopatra in New York.
