Elle gives quite the maneuver to remove dark or glitter polishes — a mechanism that also seems to work for gel polish. The magazine says to soak cotton pads in acetone remover, wrapping one around each finger, and secure it with a rubber band (not too tight, of course). Then simply let it soak for two minutes, and up to 10 for the gel polishes.
