The International Nail Technicians (INTA) has appointed Doug Schoon to serve as its chief scientific advisor. Schoon, a chemist with active credentials in nail industry legislative and regulatory issues, will work with the 800-member nail tech association on issues affecting products, services, and techniques in beauty or nail salons and spas. Schoon, founder of Schoon Scientific + Regulatory Consulting, LLC, is an internationally known scientist, educator, and author with over thirty years experience in the beauty and personal care industry. He is known for his work as co-chair of Nail Manufacturers Council (NMC) and an R&D scientist for CND. “We are especially enthusiastic that INTA can now tap into this highly valuable resource,” said Christie Smaidris, senior association coordinator for INTA. “Doug cares so much about the nail industry and the people who work in it that having him on board will move INTA forward rapidly.”
