A little friendly competition is a good thing. And that’s exactly what they had at Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas when all 146 nail techs from its 15 Chicago-area locations were invited to submit a photo and short demo as part of a company-wide nail art contest. Voting took place on the Mario Tricoci Facebook page, with the technician receiving the most “likes” named the winner. Nail tech Tonya Winfrey from the chain’s Arlington Heights location won with this colorful spring design.
“We were excited to have such a great response,” says Amber Edwards, the nail director for Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas. “Tonya’s winning entry showed a wonderful range — including patterns, use of embellishments, and clever incorporation of transparent spaces — that really made her artistry stand out.”
The anniversary campaign includes a proposed French Manicure Day and submission of the original French Manicure Kit for consideration by the Smithsonian's Personal Care and Cosmetics Collection.
The show reported 30% attendance growth. It felt that way. This event for the southwest professional beauty community had heart, spice, and something for everyone.
