North Carolina Requires CEUs for Licensees

It used to be that only instructors were required to take eight hours of continuing education units. Now licensees in North Carolina are also being asked to take CEUs.

It used to be that only instructors were required to take eight hours of continuing education units. Now licensees in North Carolina are also being asked to take CEUs. As of October 1 of this year, all licensees will be required to complete eight hours of continuing education in order to renew their licenses.

Cosmetologists may complete up to 24 CEUs at any time within the three-year licensing cycle.

CEUs are not required for licenses now being renewed, but will be required for all estheticians and nail technicians beginning October 1, 2005. Cosmetologists will need CEUs to renew in 2007.
