In the January 2012 issue of Essence magazine, celebrity manicurist Lisa Logan shares some secrets on how to avoid dried-out cuticles this winter season.

"During the winter your nails and cuticles are just drier," says Logan. "I like to use a thick concentrated treatment that clings to the nail and penetrates the cuticle area."

Dried-out cuticles ruin the look of your manicure and create an opening for infection causing bacteria to enter. To remedy this, Logan massages intense cuticle repair balm into cuticles daily.
