Genadur is the first FDA-approved treatment to help strengthen fragile, brittle nails. According to manufacturer Medimetriks Pharmaceuticals, Genadur helps improve the condition with a once-daily brush-on application that may start showing results in as little as 14 days. While brittle nails may be the result of exposure to solvents in nail products, they may also be the symptom of an underlying medical condition, such as psoriasis and fungal infection. “While the underlying conditions leading to brittle nails need to be treated, Genadur is the first product that can restore the nail, both improving its appearance and protecting it from further damage,” says Robert Marinaro, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist. “With studies showing a 90% improvement in nail fragility after 14 days and an 85% reduction in splitting, patients with fragile and splitting nails have a solution for managing these frustrating conditions.”
Genadur is used once daily, preferably at bedtime, and can be washed off with water in the morning.
