Redbook magazine answers the question of splitting and peeling nails in their October Q & Triple A. Myrdith Leon-McCormack, manicurist and creator of M2M nail polish, says the fall air is dry and can cause nails to suffer. She suggests regular manicures and the use of nail oil between appointments. Fall is flu season, and most of us are washing and sanitizing our hands more frequently, which can dry out nails according to Heidi Waldorf, M.D. Elisa Zied, R.D., says nails can be affected by a diet that is lacking in iron – eating meats, cereals, and soybeans can improve your nail health.
