The Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology recently put into effect an amendment that allows licensed estheticians and nail manicurists to enroll in instructor courses. In the past, students were required to complete a 1500 hour cosmetology course before being eligible to enroll in the instructor courses. The new change allows students with licenses in esthetician or nail manicuring to enroll directly into instructor classes without having to attain the cosmetology license. The change was officially passed in June of ’07, and became operational in December 2007.
