THE PREP: Gather three polish shades (nude, gray, and black). Swipe nails with alcohol (oils prevent pigments from sticking), and apply base coat then a coat of the nude polish.

Buy thickly women fishnets — extra fabric creates better separation and dimension.

STEP 1: When polish dry, wrap fishnets around a two (secure the base with a hair tie), turning the fabric so the holes are diamond-shaped, not square. This offers the ideal snakeskin stencil.

STEP 2: Open the black polish and carefully paint a thin coat inside each to the fishnet holes. Let the paint dry for two minutes.

STEP 3: Now top a few of the blank-painted diamonds with the gray polish to create an uneven, scale-like accent. After two minutes, remove the fishnets, and apply a quick-dry topcoat. Then repeat this process on the rest of your client's toes.
