The “Nail Community Cares” campaign to fight breast cancer needs volunteers to help spread the word and peddle its signature pink high-shine buffers.
The “Nail Community Cares” campaign to fight breast cancer needs volunteers to help spread the word and peddle its signature pink high-shine buffers. The campaign was created by Creative Nail Design president John Heffner, who is this year’s City of Hope honoree. Spearheading the fundraiser are OPI’s Eric Schwartz, Kupa’s Vicki Peters, and Creative’s Doug Schoon. Other manufacturers are participating as well.
If you are attending one of the major tradeshows this year, you can get involved as a Nail Community Cares volunteer and your first chance is at the ISSE show in Long Beach, Feb. 3-5. High-quality buffers bearing the “Nail Community Cares” slogan will be available at upcoming industry tradeshows for just $2 and all net proceeds will benefit the City of Hope for breast cancer research.
Here’s how you can help: Volunteers are needed to spend a few hours working the booth and walking the show floor selling buffers and taking donations. “Our goal is to sell 100,000 or more buffers by July,” says Schoon. The effort will continue at the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show (March 3-5), Las Vegas Hair and Nail Conference (June 2-4), Premiere Orlando (June 10-11), as well as a few other shows still to be determined. Those interested in volunteering can contact Vicki Peters at nailwoman@aol.com.
Can’t make it to a show? The pink buffers can also be ordered at BeautyTech.com in minimum quantities of 10 to be sold through your salon. For more information, go to www.beautytech.com/shoppe/nail_community_cares.htm.
