In September, Young Nails announced the opening of Young Nails Tech, a permanent continuing education center for nail techs and Young Nails Mentors.
It began with word that a 7,500-sq.-ft. building next door to Young Nails headquarters would soon become available, so company CEO Habib Salo snapped it up knowing the big plans he already had in the works — creating a Young Nails teaching facility. When the building was acquired early in 2010, the Young Nails team set about planning, designing, and beginning construction on the facility immediately. The training and education facility — called Young Nails Tech —is 900 square feet with 20 fully equipped stations in addition to an elevated pedicure bench that runs the length of the room. There is a state-of-the-art audio and video projection system so each student can hear and see every step of the day’s lessons. On the first floor of the facility is “the store,” with Young Nails’ full line of products, equipment, and merchandise available for purchase.

The store is open by appointment only for the time being and regular hours will be set once the best times for nail techs are fully established. “We had an unbelievable first training event with both prospective and senior mentors,” said Sam Lauachus, Young Nails’ new project manager and director of awesomeness. “It’s a perfect setting where professional nail techs can improve their skills and do all their shopping at once.”
