The Cosmetology Board Examination … the event that many, if not all, cosmetology students both anticipate and dread. Here is my story.

It was a really exciting week for me, and I'm starting to see the finish line as I continue to progres.
This week I had only one exam left and that was from the beginning of beauty school. I took it on Monday and scored 100% on it so I'm very happy. I have no exams and no hours to make up.
On Tuesday we began a mock State Board for the practical. It's pretty easy; the only thing is you have to remember every step and make sure you don't mess up at all.
I hope I pass my State Board exams and don't have to keep retaking them. I would go crazy stressing myself out! I can't wait to start doing nails in a salon and creating all kinds of nail designs and nail art.
On Thursday, we had a blizzard in NYC. Because there was no class, I decided to spend most of the day studying for my State Board.
This week we had four exams! We had our written exams starting Monday: one on nail artistry and one on acrylics. Each was 50 questions. I was nervous but it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
I graduate. I'm not sure if all beauty schools are the same but in mine you can't fail any exam. You have to pass all of them in order to graduate, so being on top of your game always is a must.

Your students are graduating from nail school! But before they can start working in a salon they have to pass the state board exam. Here are 10 tips to help prepare them for the big day.
On Tuesday, we had two written exams, one on manicures and one on pedicures. I had a good feeling taking the tests – it felt easy
On Tuesday, we went over pedicures and the procedures of pedicures. My instructor also taught us about paraffin wax and how to perform the service.
This week we had our big test — a practical exam and a written exam. On my written I got an 84 and on my practical I got a 71. I have to retake my practical because I need a 75 to pass.
This week was short since Thanksgiving fell on a weekday but we still learned so much. On Monday, we got our test scores back from our first exam and I got 82%!
This week we had our first written exam and I think I did pretty well. I won't know until next week but I'll post my score — fingers crossed I passed.
The moment we’d all been waiting for was about to arrive: The Mock State Board Exam. We were extra busy this week preparing for it by finishing up the book, notecards, workbook homework, review questions, and tests. I am so happy that I no longer have to do those dreadful notecards ever again!
Can I be honest for a minute? I do not want to see another notecard after I’m done with school. Please, I beg of you, keep all notecards away from me!
Well, it has finally arrived. These last two weeks have had their ups and downs but I am so proud to say that I am finally finished with school! I still have the hurdle of obtaining my license but I know that I am equipped to pass.
