We’ve had a little bit of time to get back into the swing of things at the office after the busy week surrounding the International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE). So now that I’ve had a chance to come up for air I thought we’d post some pictures and tidbits from the show floor.
Fran Naparan, Donald Anderson, and Tina Dolan were just a few of the helpful CND staff members on-hand at the company’s booth.
Charlotte Benson has some wild and crazy nails — and they’re real. The It’s So Easy educator keeps her natural nails long by filling them with acrylic underneath for extra strength. And she always has them decorated with nail art and rhinestones.
2007 Salon of the Year winner Maisie Dunbar (M&M Nails and Wellness) came all the way from Maryland to attend the show. She taught several business-building classes in addition to making the rounds on the show floor.
Charisma president Lysa Comfort introduced us to the newest member of her team — director of education Charlie Land.
Cacie Nail Creation’s David Gallegos works tirelessly, showing nail techs how they can incorporate the company’s real dried flowers and other nail art into their acrylic creations.
Also doing demos at the Cacie booth, these two Japanese nail techs are proof positive that everything in Japan is cuter — look at those fancy face masks!
Brother and sister team Lonnie Miller and Kathy Bachi dazzled nail techs with VB Cosmetics’ new Dazzle Dry polish line.
Brothers Habib and Greg Salo were literally larger than life in their impressive new Young Nails booth.
OPI’s George Schaeffer isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get down to business. The company’s spring India polish collection was a hit at the show.
Russian nail artist and AII educator Elena Maltseva had a constant crowd waiting to get a sample of one of her amazing designs. She placed first in the Veteran Handpainted Nail Art competition at the show. Shown here is a sample of her acrylic work.
All the way from Argentina, nail artist and AII educator Virginia Arleo was sculpting a face into the nail with acrylic. I’m so sorry to report my camera could not get a good enough shot. I hope she can send some tips in soon so you all can see her work. She placed first in the Veteran Design Sculptured Nail competition at the show.
While it has nothing to do with nails, I thought you guys might be like to see this picture of Paris at the show representing her DreamCatchers line of hair extensions.
That's it for now. Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3 from Sree and Tim. And look for more coverage of ISSE in the April issue of NAILS!
