Today was my first day at Tricoci University as a nail tech student. To say that I was nervous was an understatement. Never mind that I have been in school since 1987 (kindergarten through graduate school). This day was different — I felt like it was the first day of my destiny.

When I got there (mind you I was so eager that I arrived an hour early) I was met by the hustle and bustle of a cosmetology school. All the students from the cosmetology and esthetics programs were there. Everyone was super nice!

So I went to the “Theory” room — a classroom where we will work when we are not doing practicals (actual work) and sat there and waited. An hour. And once class began the eight of us nail tech students re-introduced ourselves to one another. Then came Christmas.

Christmas — also known as “get your OPI kits time” — was AMAZING. The kit is so awesome (see pic) and the add-ons were plentiful! I can’t wait till we really get to use everything we received.

But down to business — or “Theory.” I HAVE A TEST ON SATURDAY! That’s just three days away. The test is on manicures, which we will learn tomorrow and Friday. Wow. This is going to be a lot to learn! We also are responsible for learning the parts of the nail, nail diseases and disorders by next Wednesday for our test. Yes, another test. And I have a project due next week as well. So no Sex and The City 2 for me this weekend — I have work to do!

Off to study.
