The editorial crew in 1990 (from left) me, Suzette Hill, and (seated) Annie Gorton. Back then I wore my nails long

Twenty-five years ago today I walked into Bobit Publishing to take a job as the associate editor of NAILS Magazine and to work on a startup we had called Nail Tech News. I was bored and lonely those first few months, but in time, I got to understand the nail business, got to know and appreciate my colleagues, and started doing what we call “reader calls” (visiting readers in their place of business). And I started to love the job.

I moved into the editor’s chair in 1991and today my title is Chief Operating Officer of the company, which is now called Bobit Business Media. We have products and services I couldn’t have even conceived of in 1990 and I haven’t been bored or lonely since.

I just wanted to celebrate my work anniversary with the readers of NAILS and my team here. Twenty five years in, the best part of the job hasn’t changed: I work with smart, funny creative people, and I get to visit salons all the time.

Thank you all for being an inspiration for 25 years. Thank you to the amazing team at NAILS and to the great people of Bobit Business Media.
