DIY runway manicures:
To get the leopard print look from the Dolce & Gabbana show, apply two coats of your favorite gold polish and top with a heavy coat of OPI Black Shatter.
To get the color-blocked look from Jil Sander, apply one coat of bright magenta polish and apply a jewel-toned green to bottom third for a half-mooned mani.
To get the graphic striped look from Prada, apply a blue like Zoya’s Breezi on the left half of the nail and apply a black like Orly’s Liquid Vinyl to the right side. After the polish dries, use a Sally Hansen’s white Nail Art Pen to draw a straight line down the middle.
Crackled colors for spring:
InStyle highlights three fun alternatives to OPI’s Black Shatter that was so popular last winter. Sally Hansen’s Crackle Overcoat in Cherry Smash is a perfect shade of bright red while OPI’s Silver Shatter is the perfect metallic overcoat for a fresh mani. For a little bubblegum pink, try China Glaze Crackle Glaze in Broken Hearted to make the trend spring-appropriate.
Stylish stilettos:
Songstresses Rihanna, Fergie, Adele and Beyonce were all photographed recently showing off perfectly-shaped stiletto nails. “Long, point nails elongate fingers, making them look nice and slender,” celeb manicurist Kimmie Kyees tells InStyle. Her only requirement is to “be fearless,” she says.
