Temperatures in New York plunged during Fashion Week, but Creative Nail Design was heating up the runways with glamorous nails for 56 designers including Catherine Malandrino, Badgley Mischka, J Mendel, Carmen Marc Valvo, and Matthew Williamson. Scoping out the trends of the upcoming season, Creative’s Jan Arnold notes, “Dark nails are still current for the fall, but this season colors are richer with pigment — purple and gray replace black and chocolate-cherry brown as the new ‘it’ colors.”

Several designers opted for a classic red. “The key to wearing this look is that nails and lips do not match,” says Arnold. Serenity, a sheer pink, also found favour on the runway at the shows of Badgley Mischka, Costello Tagliapietra, Sass & Bide, Thakoon, and Morphine Generation.
