It’s not unusual for a nail technician to figure prominently in a client’s wedding plans. She’ll do the bride’s nails and maybe even put in an appearance at the ceremony. But Faith Glionna. owner of Cuticles in Indialantic, Fla, has gone above and beyond the cal of duty. As a notary public, she’s authorized by the state of Florida to perform wedding ceremonies and has either married or renewed the vows of four clients and their spouses so far. “It was kind of strange the first time. The couple wrote their vows and I wrote the rest of the ceremony. I was shaking a bit, but in the end, I pronounced them husband and wife,” says Glionna. She also performs the job’s more mundane duties, happily notarizing documents for clients and their friends at no charge, “Sometimes our receptionist Robin witnesses their signatures,” she adds.
