“In certain communities, Spanish-speaking nail technicians are becoming the majority. At OPI, we want to meet their needs,” says Nadine Galli, OPI’s Southern California manager. OPI has taken several steps to help them meet the needs of Spanish-speaking technicians. For one, the company has become a gold sponsor of the Association de Estilistas Latinos, and association for Spanish-speaking beauty professionals.
At a recent general meeting of the association in Norwalk, Calif., Galli and Elizabeth Via, OPI educational consultant, presented in Spanish a seminar on OPI product knowledge, including hands-on participation, to more than 100 attendees.
In New York, OPI educator Santa Collins leads Spanish workshops at her salon, Salon Richell, in the Bronx. Class enrollments is limited to eight so that she can give participants one-on-one training.
