Steve Stefano, president and founder of Joico Laboratories, Inc., announces the establishment of “Act Five,” Joico Lab’s new nail division and new nail product line. Act Five is scheduled to be introduced to the professional salon market in early October.
Stefano, joined by Vince Maugeri, vice president of sales, and Darlene Maugeri, director of marketing, hosted a reception to welcome Act Five’s two key managers to the Joico team. Carmen Prill, an acclaimed authority in nail artistry and nail care product development, has been appointed to the position of division manager of Act Five. Paula Jacobi, recognized throughout the industry for her contributions as an educator and biochemist, has been named national educational coordinator for Act Five.
Carmen and Paul represent a unique blend of professional talents, which will provide an exceptionally high quality of leadership to this new Joico venture, explained Stefano.
“Joico Laboratories, Inc. is a real pioneer in the beauty industry, and in this regard, Joico Labs is the first hair and skin care company to create a separate nail division,” he added. “The Act Five Program will enter both the nail salons and beauty salons with their product line, offering 100 percent coverage in the marketplace — a program devised to attract full-service distribution, catering to the sophisticated future trends in this high growth industry.”
Act Five, in the forefront in this form of distribution, is actively promoting a union between the nail industry and the beauty salon industry. “The time is right to develop this ‘one stop’ service,” said Stefano. Initially, Act Five will consist of 22 products/implements — each being familiar items, bearing the Act Five standards, and all “user friendly.” Quality education and support service for the nail artist will be the primary focus of the Act Five Program.
