The Whirlpool Footspa Cleaning Log, provided by AVN Dealer Services, helps salon owners keep track of sanitation records. In response to numerous outbreaks of disease from pedicure basins, the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology requires that log books be kept for inspection. In February, the state board adopted increased fines for non-compliant operators to $500 per violation. In some cases, subsequent violations could increase up to $1,000.
