The Man for the Job: For this month’s cover, we asked Danny to recreate the long, red nails from yesteryear. And we challenged him to put his own modern spin on the look. Danny, who has been doing nails for nearly 17 years, used EZ Flow APolymer Natural and Q Monomer to sculpt the long, tapered, square nails. He then polished them with Morgan’s Red from EZ Flow’s Classic Collection. (Morgan is Danny’s daughter’s name.)

Way Back When: Three of Danny’s aunts, an uncle, his mother, and grandmother were all nail techs so it was only natural for him to follow in their footsteps. He worked as a tech in one of his aunt’s nails-only salons and eventually managed three of them. A serious motorcycle accident in 1989 left Danny unable to go back to the table full time. So he began educating other techs about the products they were using in the salon. From feedback he got from these techs and after meeting with a chemist, he decided to launch his own line of products that could meet the needs for both competition and salon nails. Now Danny spends at least 150 days on the road educating.
In one month alone, he was in Mexico City for a week, came back for four days, then left again for classes in Japan. And he still found time to do this month’s cover.
