The brand new Cürbar opened March 31 in the Del Sur Town Center in San Diego. The Town Center promises an oasis of entertainment and shopping for local families, which is why Cürbar is an exceptionally family-friendly salon.

Male side

Upon entering, the salon is divided into two sides: male and female. This is so clients can relax in an environment that is tailored to them. The men’s side is brick with metal basins and leather chairs, while the women’s side is more shabby chic. At the end of each side is a special space for kids’ services. A chalk wall rounds out the corners, allowing children (or their parents) to write and doodle. A mani bar is in the middle of the salon, complete with lamps. A giant polish and gel-polish wall is right behind the front desk, facing the mani bar.

Each client fills out a questionnaire upon arrival. They even have the option of requesting music to be played during their services. A card with nail shapes is also presented to clients so they can circle the shape of their choice for the nail tech. A huge inspiration wall greets clients, so they can see seasonal trends and get help choosing a color for their service. Polish choices include CND Vinylux, OPI Infinite Shine, China Glaze, Essie, Ella + Mila, and Zoya. Gel-polish options are CND Shellac and OPI GelColor.

Owner Nina Babaie

OPI Educator Lisa Apo was on hand to train nail techs at Cürbar for the opening. Owner Nina Babaie also enlisted the help of a branding specialist to come up with the peach and navy color scheme.

Books available for clients to read while getting a service

The whole focus of Cürbar is natural nails, no upsells, so the menu is simple and straightforward. Cürbar also has its own line of body products available for purchase at the front along with on-trend Havainas sandals. Clients can even book appointments through the Cürbar app.

We would like to thank Cürbar for opening its doors to us and wish them the best!
