Dashing Diva

LAS VEGAS—Jayna Rust, associate editor—With the opening of Dashing Diva’s Las Vegas location last winter, I wanted to make sure I stopped in during my recent trip to Sin City.

. I knew that the Vegas location was now the largest Diva franchise on American soil, and I wanted to see one of the company’s salons in action.

Fortunately, getting to see the salon proved to be quite un-difficult. As are most things on Las Vegas’ Strip, Dashing Diva was easy to find. It’s located in the Fashion Show Mall, which is a two-story shopping center near famous Vegas casinos and hotels like TI (Treasure Island) and The Venetian Dashing Diva is right next to the mall’s main second-story entrance.

Although most things on the Strip are flashy and sparkly, Dashing Diva fits right in—and with only a minimal amount of sparkle. The decor is the typical pink and white of Dashing Diva, and the retail area is set up to attract plenty of attention; the hot pink packaging practically pops against the bright white walls.

My friend Amy (who I met up with for the weekend) and I had morning appointments for the Spoiled Diva pedicures. The Spoiled Diva, like most of Dashing Diva’s services, uses products primarily from the company’s own line and includes a sugar Glow exfoliation, a microdermabrasion treatment for the legs, and a cooling foot mask. To finish off the service, I let my nail tech, Marline Conception, choose my polish color, which ended up being a deep, almost black, red. Amy, inspired by her vacation fever, chose a bright orange color.

When we left, our nail techs handed us the Basic Manicure Kit, which had been used for our services. Because the company stresses sanitation in the salon, the file, manicure stick, and black buffer were ours to keep or bring back for our next visit, which unfortunately wouldn’t be happening any time soon; we were heading back home the next day.

We may have had to leave Vegas the next day, but our gorgeous pedicures stayed with us for much longer. A week after we got back, I got a message from Amy saying she was still getting compliments on her orange-toed pedi.
