Shocked by what she read in the Des MoinesRegister, a reader in Iowa alerted NAILS to a real-life horror story involving a nail salon in her area. According to the newspaper report, salon owners Quoc Tran and Phung Nguyen were at their new business, Des Moines Nail, when two men entered and pointed guns at them. Next, Tran told police, one of the men put a gun to his head and told him that his prices were too low and that he would have to raise them to keep from being shot. Tran explained that they were running a special price to attract customers to their new shop and that the price would be raised later The gunman then repeated the threat and the intruders left. According to the police detective in charge of the case, someone connected to another nail care business is a possible suspect.
