Preferred media: Acrylic paint and charcoal

Her story: When I was very young I drew funny, dorky, comical faces, then I started drawing animals and scenery at around age 12. Art was my total escape. I love many different styles of art — from classical to abstract. I also love texture and depth, so I enjoy experimenting with different ways to create complexity and intensity of color.

Inspiration/motivation: For some reason I was never able to draw realistic faces until I met my husband, Mark, my muse and inspiration. I started painting faces soon after I met him and now I can’t stop. Art is my chi; it’s what yin is to yang. I don’t necessarily choose a subject matter, it usually chooses me. There are times I don’t know what I’m going to paint until I’m done.

The intersection of nails and fine art: I use my art in every set of nails I touch. I have a caddy full of gems, glitter, stamps, calligraphy pens, colored acrylics, art brushes, and anything you can imagine to put on a nail.
