How Cute Are These Nail License Frames?

You sweated to get that nail license, so why not show it off in style? In her Etsy shop — Familiar Faces Frames — Bakersfield, Calif.-based cosmetologist Abby Briggs has just the thing to make your license pop. Her handmade frames fit just about any state’s cosmetology license.

Cosmetologist Abby Briggs saw an opportunity when she ran into a woodworker friend and learned he could cut frames to any size and shape.

Briggs launched into this sideline to fill a much-needed niche. “Anyone with a business license in California — and many other states — has run into the same frustrations I did when looking for a frame to display their license,” she says. “There just aren’t a lot of options out there that fit. I wanted to design beautiful, fun, and funky license frames that suit just about anyone’s personality.”

Most of Briggs’ creative ideas grow out of her obsession with scrapbooking paper. “When I get the frames they are completely unfinished,” she says. “I decoupage them with scrapbooking paper and hand-paint the back and edges to match. Each frame includes a glass insert to protect your license and a small dowel to stand the frame up. I can also add a cute bow to any frame upon request.”
