“For 40 years now, ibd has set the standard for salon innovation and excellence in professional UV and adhesive products,” says Dennise Mason, nail category manager at American International Industries, which acquired ibd in 2002. Through joint ventures and partnerships, ibd products are now sold in more than 50 countries throughout North and South American, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The company invented the first nail tip and the first nail glue (5 Second Glue) in the U.S. and is the leading manufacturer of adhesives and UV-light-activated products in the world, according to Mason. It also owns many patents and trademarks for a number of widely used nail care products. “We believe that building strong partnerships with salons is the foundation to success; salons are supported by a team of licensed nail technicians who educate throughout the world on how to correctly and safely use our products,” she says.
