Go to www.probeauty.org and click on “advocacy” and you’ll find out not only how your Professional Beauty Association is working on your behalf, but also how you can get involved. PBA engages with legislators at all levels of government on the issues that are most important to our industry.

This legislation would give salon owners a tax credit for the FICA taxes paid on employees’ tipped income — putting the professional beauty industry on equal footing with the restaurant industry,” says the site. Other issues at the top are tip reporting, “last in first out” accounting, and MMA.
