With 500 locations nationwide, the folks at Massage Envy know a thing or two about marketing massage services — and they say the key to getting clients in to indulge in lunchtime services is the lotion. “Clients want to leave feeling refreshed, not sticky or slick,” says C.G. Funk, vice president of industry relations and product development for Massage Envy. Nail techs take note, this same consideration may apply to lunchtime nail services that include a liberal amount of lotion or massage oil. Nail Envy limits its selection of lotions to three professional brands: Bon Vital, Soothing Touch, and Biotone. In addition, it maintains a “no-aroma” policy that benefits clients who might be returning to the workplace and want to avoid coating themselves in a heavy fragrance.
