More than just a fine nail technician, Gina Etters is an opera singer – a lyric coloratura soprano to be exact. To prove it, she’s even got a degree in operatic performance from Kent State University. Etters, who works at Nail and Hair Compliments in Tallmadge, Ohio, and is an educator for Creative Nail Design, says her vocal abilities are no secret from her clients.
When they ask to hear her perform, she usually obliges with one of her favorite pieces, “Juliet’s Waltz” from Gounod’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Unfortunately, there’s not much opportunity for Etters to pursue a professional singing career in her area, but she’s content appearing in local musical theater or opera productions each summer.
She also plans to get her master’s degree in opera as soon as her husband completes his education.
