Nailco will expand its entire operations December 7, 1987, when it moves to a new 8,000-square-foot location in Livonia, Michigan.

The state of the art facility will include an ultra-modern showroom and a model nail salon in which salon owners will be able to order a custom nail salon complete with furnishings, interior design, counters and waiting area. Nailco’s facility will also feature an educational area within the model salon, corporate offices and a warehouse.

New concepts will be introduced, such as 24-hour ordering, an incentive award program and direct order processing.

Nailco East is the first phase of Nailco’s planned expansion throughout the country. Opening late spring of 1988, Nailco East will be located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and will service the East Coast with heavy emphasis on education in Pennsylvania.

Nailco East will hold a Pre-Grand Opening Celebration November 2-3, 1987, at the Airport Marriott in Philadelphia. It will include a select group of manufacturers, hands-on workshops, an exhibit area and an evening program.

Whirlpool pedicure chair features lower-back massage unit

European Touch Ltd. II, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has designed a whirlpool pedicure chair for professional salons that features a lower-back massage unit built into the chair.

Another special feature is a waterfall (rather than an ordinary faucet) that spills into the whirlpool. Temperature control is simple with separate knobs for hot and cold running water, and set-up is as easy as putting in a sink.

To make installation even more convenient, the unit actually consists of two pieces: The top seat is removable so both parts can fit through a 26-inch-wide door.

The pedicure chair is available in seven colors: mauve, gray, black, red, white, almond and brown. Any customized color is offered for an extra charge. The chair seat, arms and foot rest come in a choice of fabric or vinyl, and in any color to match the unit.

Access to the chair is easy for the client because there are two no-slip steps, one on each side of the whirlpool.
