Nail technician Terri Taricco love nails so much so that two years ago she got a personalized license plate that read NAILS. But that wasn’t enough for the ever-enthusiastic Taricco. “This year’s Eagle Talon has the word ‘TALON’ in the big letters across the back of the car. I fell in love with the car and the idea of my ‘NAILS’ license plat under the word ‘TALON,’” she says. Taricco bought the car. Naturally, she selected this year’s hottest nail polish shade – racing car red. Taricco, a 12-year veteran of the nail industry, is nail division manager for R.G. Shakour. After owning two salons for a number of years, she started experiencing what she describes as “client burnout.” In her current position, however, Taricco couldn’t be happier. “I’m involved with all the new products coming out and new education, and I get to meet with salon owners and nail technicians daily,” she says Taricco urges nail technicians who are interested in expanding their roles (and their salaries) to look to their local distributors are putting technicians on the payroll for help in troubleshooting advice on products, and other aspect of the business.
